I have noticed that if you start message with ":deal:" Deal it does something strange and Very Happy eal: will be displayed. Editing message shows ":Deal:" but anywhere else but at start ":Deal:" is also displayed as Deal . Can it be turned off somehow?

In this message I disabled smilies which can be easily done below the textfield, quite a :deal:

I have noticed that if you start message with ":deal:" :deal: it does something strange and :D eal: will be displayed. Editing message shows ":Deal:" but anywhere else but at start ":Deal:" is also displayed as :deal: . Can it be turned off somehow?

Hmm, I think the :d is being capitalized (don't know why), and since it then recognizes that :D is the code for another smilie, it displays that one.

Sorry, AFAIK there is nothing I can do about it, except change the code for :deal:, but then any previous use of it anywhere on the forum would break.

Kotk wants the : deal : icon at the start of the post so he can't disable smilies ... Problem is the forum changing the first d to a D and making from the : D this icon Very Happy ...

Deal

You could put a space in front of it, like above.

So, I hope the consensus is that we leave AH as it is and leave our smileys on Very Happy

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.
