I would be interested (I am guessing I have missed this one)
You mentioned running a similar one?

Oh and the "All Centred" bit how closely is that inforced? I normally find myself 1-7 points in the red when I have finished a race and wiggle the habs a bit to get me the last few points I need. Very Happy

Hi,

as Andreas has told me, I should have to play with version 2.6rc4, instead of playing with my 2.7jrc3-version. If not, I could get a bancrupted turn-file. Evil or Very Mad

Have you got the same experience?

I have a german retail-version of stars 2.7. How can I change to 2.6jrc4? On http://starsautohost.org/kn2050.htm I find 2.6jrc4 for english registered shareware only. So, who can give me a hint, what to do? Confused

thx

See also this thread in the Bar: Differences in Star patches when hosting.

jRC4 does more checks for turn corruption, so even though your jRC3 lets you complete your turn and find no corruption, once you upload it and the game tries to gen the AH jRC4 might find some corruption and refuse to use your file ... so you have to delete the .x file and do it all over again.
I've seen it happening before in games I hosted, and IIRC wizard had this unpleasant event happening in the last TWW game ...

You should have no problems switching to the 2.6 jRC4, except of course there is only an English version ...
Download that jRC4 exe (it's not a patch) and just open your turn files with that from now on, there should be no pop up for your serial or anything, your self-made zip orders etc should still be present ...

Hi all,

the game is full, thanks. Note: Ptolemy will take over hosting from me, I am just a player from now on Smile
He'll know who of you is in definetely.

Nevertheless, I'll start a second similar game as host, not as player. We seem to have at least two players up to now, but please re-register by email andreas(at)studnitz.de or in the new thread.

Thanks,
Andreas

OK, here are the players we have for the game:

Current count:
1. Roman (in)
2. Taka Tuka (in)
3. Gianluca (out)
4. Jan (out)
5. wizard (out)
6. chaos (in)

So, now all that is required are the races for Gianluca, Jan and Wizard.

Wizard has also asked if I would host this one since he is playing in it and I've agreed to do so. I also see that he is starting a second identical game that he will host himself since this one filled up and there are other players wanting to play.

So, all I need is the other 3 races and I'll gen the game and send it to Ron to put up on AH.

Anyone have a starting HW mineral concentration request?

Ptolemy

Well, all starting mineral concentrations are 'fair' since the starting concentrations apply to all HW's. However, I will go for a start where all concentrations are fairly equal and around or above 50. That should provide everyone with enough to be useful.

NOTE to the players:

I am still missing 3 race files

Gianluca
Wizard
Jan

Since I don't have e-mail addresses for all of you, I will wait another day and PM the three of you if I still haven't heard from you. My e-mail is whsmith (at) welho (d..) com

Ptolemy

Wizard: I updated your original post to indicate that I am hosting for you since you are playing.

Hi Ptolemy,

may be, you should set a final deadline. If Wizard will be late comparing to the deadline, you should wait for him, because this game was his idea Smile.

If any other player will be more late than Wizard and the deadline, you could open their slots again for new players Twisted Evil.

Normaly no intermediate and above player should have a problem (including time) to design his race. Rolling Eyes

hehe have you seen the amount of testbedding that experts put into race design? I think Gakl once sent me 5-6 updated race files becuase he kept tweaking things.

Well,
Gianluca and Wizard will certainly get their race files in over the next two or three days as time permits. I do not know who Jan is so, there is a question.

However, when Gianluca and Wizards files are in then the game can start with 5 players.

As I stated, I will wait until tomorrow after work (which is Monday morning since I work nights) - then, I will PM all the missing players. I will e-mail Wizard since I have his mail address.

I will keep posts up in this thread and will start mailing those of you that have the files in as to progress.

Please be aware that it is quite possible that the game will take about another 14 days to start. Ron generaly only sets up games once a week.

Kind Regards,
Ptolemy

[edited because my fingers type faster than my keyboard responses, so, I get missing lettes in words occasionally]

IMO it could be an idea to ask for a possible replacement-player, who would jump in, if a player doesn't send his race-file to host after announcement, instead of starting with five players. I don't like a number of 5 players - at the beginning Cool

Hi all,
there's no reasonto ask for a replacement player yet - I know Jan and he will have his race in. He is from my "private" (off-Autohost) Stars! group.
Regards,
Andreas / wizard

P.S: Yes, I will send in my race today or tomorrow. Still not decided which idea to use...

We can certainly wait a few more days - after all, this is a game for busy people so I suspect that the few players still out are 'busy' Cool
