Acc BBS start...

what universe type? because a testbed value has no meaning unless people are using the same game types

The general benchmark for a monster race is it's ability to reach 25k of resources in a small / normal universe with ACC BBS.

I, on the other hand, tend to be a little bit more stringent with my design requirements - i.e. the same small / normal, but I throw in 3 expert AI's. The reason I do this is that I am then forced to do some extra ship production I would not have to do in the 'standard' test or one of those AI's is likely to drop in on my HW with several destroyers. I also need to build some minelayers. If my race gets to 25k resources in 2450 with this extra work, then I am satisfied.

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.
