Jeff McBride once explained how to add an item to the production queue of several planets in a single action.

I remember that it starts from the planets report, but for the life of me I can't remember how to add production items to the queues of several planets in a single swoop.

Anybody remembers?

Though this would be very usefull, I never heard of such a thing as being implemented...

But what you may use, is in planet report, do sort by a criteria that groups the planets in question together (like current starbase, population, or production) then click on production for the first of these planets. This does open up the production window for that planet, do your production, and hit next... That button will then respect the order you set up in planet report.

It's not exactly what you want, but at least you have all the planets in question regrouped...

Hope this helps

Yes, I think that is the method that was outlined (for quickly upgrading a starbase design to several planets).
The method was no more than sorting the planet grid by Starbase and then adding them one at a time in the production queue.

The only other method is through the production templates. However, you can not add ships or starbases in the templates - only auto build orders.

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.
