I fail to see how the neighbor races gain an overly great advantage 
3 players have dropped and they weren't anywhere near the neighbors of the WM - seems to me it is the other races that have had the greater advantage already - 3 homeworlds extra to be precise. The loss of the WM would be inconsequential to the outcome of the game.

There is no problem - I'm more than happy to play in a game where Jason is - it's been many, many years.
I simply fail to understand the statement that the neighbors of the WM would gain too big an advantage. The neighbors of the races that dropped certainly gained an advantage from gobbling up those planets and HW's. The races that dropped were not in the vicinity of the WM's attackers. The WM neighbors would gain no more or less than the other races have already gained.

Ofc, but Vader didn't just drop out (neither did the Archon). In fact, it wasn't until I destroyed Vaders fleets, then advanced and started bombing his HW that he dropped. Granted he could have fought on, but it is very unlikely that the outcome would have changed. He had invested almost all his G in jihad cruisers and couldn't rebuild quickly. So, no unfair advatage was gained there, it was mainly me. To the winners go the spoils.
As for the SD...he dropped prematurely, no question about that. I would never invite that player to another game, even tho I understand why he dropped.
