I'll attempt to save the Bidding for PRT game idea and offer to host.

Bidding rules:

1. PM me your intent to play and 5 different PRTs you wish to play so I can get a head count. I will post a list of players and wait one week to allow others to sign up.

2. After head count is in the total votes for races will be posted to give indication of PRT popularity. Any PRT that recieves 0 votes will discluded from the bidding ballot.

3. Submit via PM first round of bids, first round bids will be also be used as second and third level tiebreaker criteria, so accurate first bidding will pay off. All initial bids MUST contain at least 3 PRTs with AND at least a total of 150 points. No negative value bids are allowed.

4. When all initial bids are in the current highest bids ONLY will be posted.

5. Submit via PM final round of bids, every PRT bid value must be the same or higher than your initial one.

Final bids will be evaluated as such.....

The difference between the first and second highest (remaining) bids for each PRT will be the determining factor as to if a player gets an 11th hour bid. Note that this is not neccesarily the highest bid for all the PRTs, but the biggest disparity between highest and second highest bids in each category.

The last place bidder will get to select from any remaining PRTs (even ones that did not make the bidding ballot) for the handicap that he placed for the final bid for each PRT or a zero handicap on those that did not make the ballot.

Also note that it could be possible that a PRT with high and very close bidding may not even make it into the game based on bids for other PRTs or could even possibly go to the lowest bidder. 11th hour bids must be the disparity value +1 of the second highest bid value. Bid carefully.

In this example the final round of bids finishes at.....

A Selects CA 150, JOAT 150, IT 90, WM 40, IS 20, SS 20
B Selects CA 180, JOAT 120, IT 50, WM 20, IS 25, SS 10
C Selects CA 90, JOAT 60, IT 30, WM 15, IS 10, SS 10
D Selects CA 130, JOAT 100, IT 50, WM 30, IS 0, SS 30
E Selects CA 60, JOAT 40, IT 40, WM 30, IS 20, SS 0

Player B has highest CA bid of 180 with disparity of 30, Player A has highest IT bid of 90 with disparity of 40.
Player A wins the choice of CA for an 11th hour bid of 221 (bid diparity value +1), JOAT for 150, IT for 90, WM for 40, IS for an 11th hour bid of 66, or SS for an 11th hour bid of 71.

If Player A had bid IT at 100 and SS at 90 then the disparity would be 60 and they would have to play SS at the bid value of 90, or make an 11th hour bid to play CA at 241, JOAT at 181, IT at 111, WM at 91 or IS at 86.

First tiebreaker will go to the player with the highest final round total, second tiebreaker will be the highest initial bid disparity, third tiebreaker would be highest initial round total. Coinflip tiebreaker if one is needed beyond that.

The rest of the game rules can be explored once we have the interest nailed down.

Aniticipated galaxy parameters:
Medium Packed Distant ?
No AccBBS ?
Slow Tech ?

Acceptable features/bugs:
Chaff ?
Split fleet dodge ?
Recycled ship slots ?

I'm in.

Took me a while to get my head around the bidding system, but I think I understand it. Laughing

I strongly suggest that no-one even suggests changes to it, to ensure the game get's off the ground promptly this time!
