This may be very lame question but I have to ask it Smile

When I set fleet destination, the cursor automatically jump to a planet or fleet when it gets near it. I mean if a planet is at X 2000 Y 2000 i cannot send fleet to a location X 1999 Y 2000 because my cursor jumps to the planet.

Well, the question is, can this be overriden somehow? Very Happy I play stars for some time now, but never managed to archive such thing Smile Still I believe this is possible, since I observe in game situations when fleet are very close to the planet or to each other. How to do that? Smile

Or, is there another possibility rather than moving fleet one "point" from planet that could explain the situation below:

I am conquering a planet. I did not take scout with the fleet however (lame) so I expect there may be 98% (or even less) cloaked enemy ship(s) near the planet. I have laid 600 mines on the planet. Yet, the same turn, 599 mines from that minefield was sweeped (minefield was left on the planets with 1 mine). How could that happen?? Additional info: there were no fleets on the planet besides mine, no battle occured and the planet became unhabitated due to bombing in the year in question. It was the first year of the minelaying, so it was original minefield with 600 mines (those just laid).

Ok, looks like I found one way... Low warp travel... But it takes time... Anything faster?

Zoom in, hold down your shift key, then drag your waypoint around.

This should be put in the Must Know section. Can anybody think of other little things that should join it? Like packets only traveling half the distance the year they're launched, though I think that's in the help file. We ought to create a Packet FAQ explaining what we know about packets, maybe a Fleet FAQ with things like using the shift key for precise movement, how fleet numbers affect the game, limits on and reasons for naming fleets, things like that.

I think a lot of the info is in the help/manual. Of course, there are many errors in the manual too.

I would like to get a revised manual created and also collect tips like these on my webpage (darkcluster.com). I've started on Starpedia and I got part way through turning the manual into a Wiki, but a lot is work in progress right now.

Measure distances by middle mouse button or Shift + right mouse button?

Also, what happens to your pursuing ships when an enemy ship flees thru a WormHole, and how to ambush WormHole exits by targeting WH coordinates instead of the WH itself... Wink
