looks like this forum still has some activity going
i was wondering if theres still quite a few people
that play this game?
i see some recent posts,so i hope the forums still
active with players.

The forum is definately active.
Welcome.
Check out the game announcements page - as you can see there are a number of games waiting to fill up (and they mostly do fill up.)

There is a post looking for a replacement player at turn 0 in a beginners game, in the bar. Might be worth taking a look at as you wouldn't have to worry about race design.
Although if you haven't even been through the tutorial yet you'll need to give yourself a crash course in single play first.
