Requests for comments/suggestions.

Medium/large sparse (may reduce number of planets further via hack) universe re-mapped so that stars are in the 4 corners also in the centre of the map.

4 players start in each of the 4 corners (i.e. very far away). All enemies/no diplomacy/(no communication?). Single victor game.

A one-way wormhole ring links each corner in a clockwise direction. i.e. NE to SE to SW to NW to NE.

Ideas is that you will battle over control of the wormholes and also can only move one way. Send your entire fleet throuh a WH and you could leave your sector vulnerable.

Options

1. Let wormholes jump
2. Let them jump but reset them the turn after.
3. Fix wormholes

Having static wormholes is interesting, since when you exit, you need to move away from the wormhole and then move back to travel. This means minimum of 7 turns to make one lap.

Gates

1. No changes
2. Ban IT
3. Ban gates completely.

So ... basically there are few opponents and single spot front.

Sounds like simple quick game. On other hand there are quite lot of (54) planets per player. Rolling Eyes Take small sparse (24 per player) and remap to medium maybe? Wink

Depends of course what you actually wanted to achieve. Nod

As my own preference ... I have had experience that most interesting games are with lot of sturdy opponents in quite tight room. Lot of fronts, strain and stress, but few fleets and other crap to manage. Very Happy

It's a spot front, but it's actually 2 one-way fronts. Of course, it is possible to travel through space but slower. Yes, I planned to remap to get around 24 per player.
