Hi. I have got as far as HW: Cathedral of Kadesh and although my 12 Salvage Corvettes have no problem locking onto and holding MB Frigates and Fuel Pods, they dont release them to the Mothership.

I did salvage a good number of Fuel Pods in the Garden of Kadesh, previous level. Is there a maximum number of enemy units you can slavage in one game or is this a glich?

I do play a defensive game of steal if I can and kill the rest so I wonder if I have salvaged to my limit?

That's it - seal the ports ........

Assuming you're talking about HomeWorld, these Forums are devoted to an entirely different game. Razz

That said, most likely you've hit a "max unit" limit of some kind. You should certainly try retiring some units to see what happens.

You might want to read pages such as http://www.cheatcc.com/pc/sg/homeworld.txt for more hints.

Good luck!

Don't forget to come back when you tire of awesome 3D mayhem and want some *real* strategy! Wink

As an aside I did play this game some time ago.
there is no upper limit on the number of ships you can have, oh and stealing ships is definately the way to go.
I would suggest making sure you have no ships docked at the mother ship (there is a limit on that).
Also try sending another salvage frigate to the ships that are hanging - if my poor and ageing memory serves me right some of the bigger ships require more frigates to capture them.
(2 to imobalise and 3 to capture??)

Yeah, some need up to 5 Salvage Corvettes to bring down the big ones. Your suggestion to clear the mother ship may be the answer. So what game is played here then? The page header does say Home World Forum, so I thought I had arrived!

Why, Stars, the one and only! Head to the downloads page and get the demo, play the tutorial (guess where HomeWorld got the idea!) and conquer the universe without a scripted campaign to guide you. Graphics aren't great, mind, but Chess doesn't need them, either. Very Happy

If in doubt, go see Eve Online, hailed as the best of them all, with the greatest possible accolade: "HomeWorld meets Stars!" Cool

Turn based 4X type strategy game... You start off with a (you guessed it) homeworld, and from there have to explore the universe, expand to fill it, exploit resources and exterminate your opponents...

Deceptively simple game mechanics leads to a very rich and complex game... I guess the real proof is that we're all playing it even though it was released in the 90's.

I've tried a lot of similar games through the years (and have a ninja computer for FPS games) but yet I keep coming back to this game...
