Hi!
Got a new game idea which I'm not sure if it is worth to try. Exact game rules are under development/testing at the moment. Any sggestions/comments are welcome. Sending this ahead of time - I did not finished test game, though I already tested a lot of critical things required for this game. I have strong suspicion though that I overlooked something , so any comments welcome

Game storyline
Next 5000 years after defeating the Big Evil are passed by. All living beings hoped that great cataclysm killed the (yet unknown) source of Big Evil. However, suddenly you were waked up early morning by your First Council: passing-by Mystery Trader brought really terrible news. The Big Evil re-birthed? Worse! It already cleared few universe bubbles from all traces of life and heads straight to your universe bubble.
You read all that is left from your race history, and learned only few important things related to that. After the last use, artefacts were embedded into powerful ships and spread out through the galaxy. A lot of copies of elemental weapon elements were made as well to decrease chances of losing it. During the Great Cataclysm that split universe into bubbles, many races used artefacts to survive the cataclysm.
Now you know where to use that artefact you kept behind your back just for case. However, you cannot use it in its full power without other elements gathered together. MT told that all elements are left in the same universe bubble, one of the largest bubbles, after the great cataclysm.
The Big Evil is far better prepared this time after taking the lessons of previous invasions. Its power now is in huge fleet and the very evil essence in each ship that allows controlling it. However, The Big Evil loses its powers starting to be fragile by that - it costs a lot to put the very evil essence of it into each ship, so its fleet is limited to the laser ships only. The Big Evil's fleets cannot launch torpedoes. It would require too much of evil essence to do so. Torpedo ships are possibly used for the last defences only near the Big Evil, where evil essence can immediately return to the Big Evil after torpedo explodes.
Being prepared that way, The Big Evil starts The Big Hunting - hunting for the elements to assure self-safety first of all. That is the main reason it headed to your universe bubble at first. After artefact is destroyed, nothing would stop The Big Evil to iron out all your people out of all worlds.
The Big Evil is powerful enough to quickly find you and your artefact. However, there are significant obstacles and dangers as well. What the Big Evil is scared of? Of course, the 5 Elements! When 5th element is used together with one of the elemental parts, the evil ship in the area of influence of such Big Evil Soul Wiping weapon loses the evil essence and becomes uncontrolled by the Big Evil. It means evil fleet becomes under your control on such occasion. This would not happen only when Big Evil can reinforce the evil essence almost immediately, and it can do this only in the close area around itself (210 ly). If the Big Evil itself falls into area of influence of Big Evil Soul Wiping weapon, it is paralysed by constant evil essence flow to survive and preserve ships in the area, that means it cannot do anything but fighting.
All 5 different elements joined together can do even more. If the Big Evil is in the area of 5 elements influence, it always loses ships except fleets in the same location with the Big Evil. When all 5 elements are too close to it (on orbit), the Big Evil dies instantly.
It only looks so easy.
Because all traces of complete genetic formula of 5th element - the "ideal humanoid" - are gone into the void, it is required to gather a "critical mass" of "strong humanoid" race people - children of the "ideal humanoid" - to be able to act together as a 5th element.
