What i mean is in one game im in right now my opponent uses his missles ships with thier battle orders set to kill bombers/unarmed ships with the result of him killing all my bombers before i can use them.

Is it possible to make some crappy small freighter or something that i can move around with my bombers that will have a higher attractivness rating so that its always attacked first before the bombers, much like normal chaff works with combat ships?

With target bomber orders the ship has to be a bomber. And to qualify as a bomber, it has to have a bomb. You could try one lady finger bomb on a mini. One advantage of minis is that they kind of act as their own chaff to some extent. In at least one game I used them to 'chaff' sweep a small field, since sending them with the main fleet would kill them all if the fleet hit a mine, I split them and sent them first. Then a hit only kills one bomber. I think none of them hit (small field, not too fast).
The point is that each mini bomber isn't that expensive (compared to a full B52 for example), so losing a few isn't too bad.

The order though im talking about is "bombers/freighters." Both are on the same order to kill so are you saying it will always target bombers before freighters?

Try with small freighter and TGD-9 engine. To be completelly sure include a DNA scanner. I found that solution in 5 minutes using Stars! Calculator (http://starsautohost.org/kn2050.htm).

OTOH you don't need to send bombers to every planet you attack. Keep him guessing, and losing those "kill-bombers" ships. After some failures he'll probably change tactics. However I wouldn't. It's still cheaper to lose 2 BBs than a whole planet.

When I was considering freighter chaff I looked at scouts with cargo pods. Cheaper then a small freighter, and less armor too. This was to protect IS freighters, so I didn't look at how they'd protect freighters. There are several calculators to compare attractivness, Posey's spreadsheet (http://www.starsfaq.com/download/STARS%21.zip) is a good one.

HE Prt has by far the cheapest freighter chaff in the game. For rest, coloniser is another potential option as well as sticking a cargo pod on another type of ship such as scout or frigate.
