Looking for 16 players for a "normal" random team game. That is to say the players submit their race files and I randomly decide the teams. I need passworded files with a note as to which PRT you have.

I am open to suggestions of what YOU the players would like to see as a universe and rules. I am open to suggestions.

I would just like a normal game with dedicated players who will not drop after the first set-back.

Hi,

will there be teams of 2, 4 or 8 players?
Sorry, I won't be playing, that game is too big for me.

You might want to consider picking who is on what team after looking at the races, some combinations of PRTs are much stronger then others. Also, how will team members be placed in relation to each other? Is the host playing? (If so, I would be willing to decide what the teams are).

Yes, the host wants to play, so I would welcome your offer to match the teams up.

Team numbers will depend on the amount of players who register. But a maximum of 4 per team and probably 3.

But there is no interest so far, so we shall see Confused

Hi,

Sorry for the delay, I was away for a few days.

for 16 players it would be large or huge. It can be decided by the players.

But looking at the response here in the forum, I think I will let it drop. Rolling Eyes

OK, one last try. A random team game, with anything from 4 to 16 players. Passworded Race files with PRT stated to me and then the teams and positions will be decided.

I will mail my regular players and see if there is a little more response.

Do you have any other game details? Density, ABBS, etc.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

Well this will all depend on the amount of players who register. At present only one other person has actually sent me a race file, so size and density will depend on those. Acc BBS is an option I always check.

OK, mate, can you get me a passworded race file to MHurn37474@aol.com stating your PRT as soon as possible. This secures a place.

I want to play too.

What about schedule? I prefer to play 36(48) hours/turn with immediate turn generation if all are present.

I prefer 36 hour turns, because real life can sometimes step in and knock you back a few hours. We can possibly go to a M-W-F when the game gets into the later stages.

I would be willing to play. I have been away from Stars! for about 6 years. But, I have recently found the love for the game again.

Let me know if you want a seasoned newbie. Wink

OK, this is the situation.

I have 4 race files. Crying or Very Sad

There does not seem to be a great deal of interest. I am still willing to play a 2 vs 2 team game in a small universe.

Let me know if you are still intersted please, or if there are any late starters, but obviously I need equal numbers.

Maybe people don't want a random team member? Perhaps most want to pick their team mate, even if it is in-game?

Maybe a rule adjustment that allows you to team with anyone during the game, until a certain date? Just a thought...

I would be interested in a smaller (3 vs 3 or such) game. Race file on the way!

Hi Matt Smile

Well my thinking was to stop these pre-made alliances where people have habs, techs and traits worked out so they complement each other and just say "Hey, here is your partner!" "What, you both want the same planets?" - "Neither of you has pen scans!". Ah well, sh*t happens !! Laughing

But I think it is a sign of the present stars! community that we are made up of mainly "number crunchers" with pre-designed races and strategies. How many times have you played a game and suddenly a player suddenly states "I can't win any more, so I say player #6 is the winner". He drops - so his allies drop, and the game closes. I look at the end of game results and this player still has 300+ Nubians !!! I have ended some games on the winning side not even having reached Nubian tech !!

I think the situation reflects my thinking in that most of the players I have deem themselves "inexperienced" or "fairly new".

To these people and myself, it is still a fun game and not a micromanagement nightmare that you hope to have finished within 75 years or it becomes too much of a strain on your private life and you drop.

But I digress......... Cool Cool Cool

You in ??

Mick
