Mind field visible?

Hi

Can my allies see my minefields?

As i assume they wont be hurt by my mines because they are my allies and so does that mean the mine fields are not visible to them??

I am also assuming that mines are not visible in normal scanners unless hit by some ship. But they would be visible for penetrating scanners.

The rules for "sseing" minefields are the same for friends and enemies alike. The only difference is the pain... Very Happy

As for the detection of minefields, I've lifted this directly from the Help file....;

A mine field is 75% cloaked if you haven't seen it before. Minefields are always cloaked 75% from non-penetrating scanners.

You can see both the center and radius of another player's minefield under these circumstances:

� The center of the minefield is in range of your penetrating scanner, OR
� You have hit the minefield at least once and the center is in range of your normal scanners. OR
� You are currently IN the mine field.

Thanks that helps.

One thing, In the help the text mentiones about "opponents", does this word also include allies?

All players in a game are 'opponents' - allies are simply opponents you have set to freindly status Cool

I'm fairly sure it doesn't depend on hitting the field but seeing it the prior year. IOW, once you see it, it is no longer cloaked.

You can also see it if you hit it, even if none of the other methods work (scout running into a field and being destroyed, you still see the field - for one turn).
