OK. This is more of an experimental game. A modified version of JRC4 will be used. Changes are:
CA races have instant terraform ability removed. But they can still us OA and terraform at 1/2 price.
OA are more expensive (500 resources, 50 each mineral) and heavier (160kt).
AR have been given the ability to instantly terraform. When they leave a planet, the terraforming stays.
Due to the patches, the cost of OA may not be reflected in the client.
Usual cheat disclaimers apply. Standard victory conditions. Will be a small/normal/farther game with AccBBS. Approx 6 players. Interested parties should reply here with their email and proposed PRT of their race (I don't want 6 CAs!)

Since this is a modified version of Stars!, everyone that plays will need the modified .exe
You will need to provide a download link to the file so that players play with the same file. Also, Autohost can not be used to host the game since AH uses only the standard JRC4 version.
You will need to host the game yourself or create a web based autohost for youir own web space. You can get a copy of the original Pearl code for Autohost from this site at the following link:

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.Report message to a moderator

I'm interested. I've sent an email with the PRT I'd like to play to the email you are using for LOC.

Are you sure you want to do that?
It gives AR a very powerful weapon against an opponent with different habs. All you have to do is set upon the enemy early with the special AR colonisers. Colonise the planet (even if the AR doesn't want it) and then you've turned what was a green planet for them into an instant yellow or red.
Would be better if the AR insta-forming reverts back to how it was previously. As per the same as CA is now.

Since the instaforming is restricted to the terra levels of the AR he won't be able to do much early, he can only shift the habs very little at the start of the game ... not enough to make a 80% green suddenly a -5%.
Later on the AR (with TT) could use this more offensively but is removing all terra better? Did you ever lose a planet to a CA and took it back only to find that you needed to terraform it back from being -10% all over again?
The above is a common tactic when I play teamgames with an CA teammate, if we conquer a planet but can't hold it for long the CA colonizes (or popdrops it) so the habs are back to starting habs and when the enemy takes it back he has to start over again. Usually he will have a CA on his own team but you can always snipe their OAs.

Yes. I agree with you. However, AR doesn't leave a planet in the same way as other races and so I'm trying to find a way to hook into the uninhabit routines to that un-terraform happens in the same way as for CA.
In any case, I think this makes AR too powerful and will not be in my final mod that I'm currently writing. Instead, I intend to alter the 'starting colony' so that it is lightly armed.
Iztok. Apologies for no further contact, but I've been away, and there are not currently enough players to start.
