I am now taking players for a re-start of Primitive Paranoia. Please see the game post for the rules. I ask that all players be dedicated and willing to go the distance. Primitive games require commitment and patience.

I would like 9 players at least so that the game can be played in a medium universe. I will be playing and there will be a 3rd party verifying all the races - including mine. Sign up now - the sooner the better.

I did some research about using AR in "primitive" games, so I'd like to ask you to rethink your decision about mandatory expensive energy for ARs. In my tests this realy slowed down their econ growth considerably: no higher terra levels in temp and no more res from higher levels of energy cripled their growth in the phase, where races with factories just began their exponential growth, quickly getting ahead of ARs with res, tech and minerals.

I'd be willing to consider changing from expensive to normal energy cost if that keeps the AR more equal to other PRT's without letting them run away with resources. The main limiting factor is going to be square root divisor of no lower than 15. It may be that that should increase to 16 or 17.

If I look at the last primitive game Dark Ages, you had 30k resources in 2545 - an AR should not be able to do better than that.

They will not. Remeber that they get resources from square root of pop, and that their pop DIES in space. Quadrupling the pop gives them only twice the resources, so after they run out of new planets their res growth slows down - with expensive energy significantly. In my testbeds (same uni, almost same hab) at turn 100 NO AR had better res than ANY race with factories, but at 50 some had.

However I should mention I did testbeds with facs/mine settings about 12/15/15 10/10/14, not yours x/25/x x/15/x. That means 60% higher investment in fac+mine combo. In DA3 I had the feeling my race goes s...l....o....w. Wink What will you then call yours? Confused

Iztok - my game goes S.L.O.W/Slooooooooowwwwwwwwwww Smile Though not so much as you would think. By 2450 HW seems to get all it's facs and mines built anyway for the 300k pop.
