I have a few invites to hand out for Google's beta gmail accounts, if anyone wants one. Cool

If you want webmail and are concerned about privacy and ads, I suggest looking at http://www.myway.com/

No banner ads, no pop-ups, 125 meg (only 1/8 gmail, but still a lot of space)

Not that I expect privacy from any flavour of internet company, especially when you bring subpeonas or warrants into the equation, but how is My Way any more private than gmail?

I don't mind google's ads...they're relatively unobtrusive..and sufficiently relevant that I even click on them at times... much like the ones in Eudora(which I also use Wink )

AFAIK, myway doesn't scan your mails to see what ads to send to you, and they don't say that they'll save them and analyze them for whatever they want.

http://info.myway.com/index/id/privacy.html

If you have no problems with gmail, then stick with that.

Yahoo's premium service (about $5 US per month) gives you 2Gb of mailbox space. You can file your mail into folders and it is searchable, though probably slower than gmail for searching. I've no idea what their privacy policy is like, but then again I'm not that worried. Their SpamGuard system works very, very well too - I'd estimate it catches over 95% of the spam.
