Max Players: 14 (7 teams)
ABBS: On
Random Events: On
PPS: Off
Non-playing host
Ranked: Vote
Skill: any

Standard cheat disclaimer, chaff allowed

Gens: Monday-Friday, 24 hours, till player vote for switch

Teams will be decided by me, trying to set up as even teams as possible. Players will not be notified of their teammates until the game has started.
Game will be a remapped universe (size and density dependant on number of players)
Shaped into a spiral, with 1 team per spiral arm.

Host will be playing an observer race, along with an IT.
The IT will start at the tip of each spiral arm, and at 2450 gates will open to the players allow tip-to-tip travel form the closest arms (if ~800ly between tips then any/800 gates will be used)
Host races must be set to friend by all players

VC:
For 1 team to control 3/4 worlds in a cluster at the center, for 5 concurrent years. The 4th world being the Observer race. The catch? Each of the three worlds has a guardian fleet in orbit set to attack everyone... And the nubian hull is banned for players... Twisted Evil

No PRT restrictions?

So most teams will likely have a CA PRT member?

No PRT restrictions no.

As for a CA part on each team... Remember I'll be pairing the teams based on player skill, so you don't know what you're teammate is playing until the game starts

Think about what happens if there are more CAs than other PRTs.

There will have to be some 2xCA teams which is not so good; your OAs are almost useless, you have no other tricks up your sleeve and you both want to colonise almost everything. Against CA+IT, CA+SD, CA+WM, CA+AR or CA+SS you'll struggle.

The game I was just in, It's The Economy Stupid, was also prophisised to be mainly CAs, but there was only 1 out of 10. And he wasn't in 1st place in resources, though that was largely because he had to fight a war.

Every time I've seen people predict how a game will go before it starts, they've been wrong. I guess that's why people play it.

Oh, and with Nubians banned and everyone having a team-mate, War Monger is going to be very strong (DNs will rule).

And another thing Very Happy

With nubs banned, BET becomes a possibility.

But still a pain in the arse when building newly advanced ship designs all the way through. Doesn't stop Omega's and AMPs being twice the cost either. Sad

Hmmm. Do planetary installations (defences / scanners) become twice the price if you only just have the required tech with BET? Just a musing that occured to me.

Above Downsiders reply that was moved to the Bar because of the question he asked.

So there won't be any tweaking of race designs allowed after teammate is assigned... in other works a more generic work with many other races design is ideal.

I think CA is better than any other race in this role, but could be wrong.

IT is pretty flexible for this role. It can even intermesh very well with another IT barring a close overlap in hab ranges.
