 Since my summer vacation is not going to happen, I would like to host a Stars game.
The game is for beginners/intermediate, common sense should be applied when fitting yourself into these definitions.
The primary goal is to host (and play!) a game with people who previously enjoyed playing AIs or played no more than 4-5 games with humans and think they got some lessons out of those games.
Here's a chance to see whether these lessons were well learned!
Game parameters:
8 players to participate, host is playing

Medium Universe/normal density
Distant player positions

Public Player scores
(remember we enjoyed this parameter playing with AIs!)
Galaxy clumping
Victory conditions - Last Man Standing or vote (when it becomes boring)

Chaff and Split fleet are allowed - all other cheats are banned.
No CA, the rest is OK.

Game will be on Autohost, 5 turns a week M-T-W-T-F, slowing down to 3 per week (MWF) upon request; no turns on weekend (It's still summer in northern hemisphere, mind my cancelled vacation)

Alliances are allowed, but bear the victory condition in mind.
PPS will probably influence the diplomacy but in which way - cannot predict.

About myself: I played three games with humans, lost two, and rode to the victory on a wise and mightier ally's back once (God bless you, Zapan!).

Don't worry. The last game I posted (Landrush) was for 4 players only, and it took 3 weeks to get 4 responses. It happened eventually though.

PS: Last time I played Stars! - about one year ago. At that time I played two games with humans - one lost, second was not finished by another team.

I actually was under impression, that all of the Russian Stars! players switched to real4x, since there's not one stars! site in .ru domen. Last of Mohicans we are.

Status update looks like following
1.Me
2. Tom 64 (maybe)
3. TheGoaT

6. Sproket(???)
7. Nikki (???)
8. Nikki's friend (????)
So, I suggest that those with question marks and maybes confirm or unconfirm their participation.
And if we're lucky with them - we'd better start breeding our races. After that I'll start the game as soon as possible.

Well, here's an amendment to reqruiting policy (being a host means I can modify the one Cool ).
First eight beginner/intermediate players who send the racefiles to dimviks@hotmail.com will be playing.
If I receive more than eight files - I will try to host another game, or offer hosting to one of the excess players.
So, First In with race files - First Out to play (FIFO)Smile

 May be I'm wrong, but there are only about 70 games on http://library.southern.edu/stars/games.htm, while AutoHost has 100 slots, hasn't it? So why there are no free slots?
