May be I'm wrong, but there are only about 70 games on http://library.southern.edu/stars/games.htm, while AutoHost has 100 slots, hasn't it? So why there are no free slots?

Could be a possible translation error and dimych might have wanted to say: "no slots for new races" (since the game already has been generated) instead of a game slot. Confused

Sorry for misleading vocabulary. No free slots available in the game. as about a slot for the game at autohost - right, there're enough for us:)

That's right - we have a full set of players for LFP game. Pote, try writing to muhd36@email.com. The guy volonteered to host another beginners game and would be glad to have two other players in.

khhm. I believe it's late - because if you would take time to implement changes, than someone else would have taken your place in the game. Remember - the fastest 8 were allowed to play.
Major problem or minor fine-tuning?

I have one ready. Just tell me if I can send it in place of the other. Just in case, I will send it.

Two race files had been modified and game was re-generated. Sent the gamefiles to Ron again.

Have we got any progress in game state?

No, nothing new. I have got a note from Ron address, confirming that the game files had been received and as soon as Ron is able to start the game - he will start it. It also said to be patient since Stars autohost is just a hobby, and beside it he has a real job and life to take care of.
So, we just wait. Or I wonder if it's possible to run turns at my computer and then pass the files once the game is set up.
Can any experienced host help advice on that?

You can send the .xy and .m files to the players for the first turn.

I would recommend against running any outside of AH if the host is playing. And if the host is playing they should probably just send Ron a .def file.

I think Ron isn't posting new games for a little while for some reason. He has warnings up. We COULD start without him though.

Looks like we have autohost, but my turn says it's "not from this game". I tried it on JRC3 and 4, same result on both (after trying JRC4 first). Both FTP and regular links, same result. ANyone else have this problem?

Ron may have recreated the game, so you may need to download starting files from Autohost, then do turn using those files.

Slight chance deleting the .x file might help if you are working in same directory (rather than starting from scratch in new directory)

I used 2.7j for race creating (is it ok, or not?). I suppose 2.6* could have a problem.

PS: I can't check my game files now, because I haven't Stars! on my work.

Khhm. seems to be my mistake - xy file was not duly replaced in zip file I sent to Ron Embarassed Embarassed after re-generation of the game.
Seems like it's time to re-send again. I truly hope it will be the last re-send in this game.

That would start the waiting-game all over again. The files Ron has set up will be outdated so you'll have to send new ones ... and wait again. Wink

Huh ...
Looks like there are no more problems (all turns are checked in), topic could be locked and game could get going, so we only wait for host. Smile
