This is a game based on the survivor game show series where the last one in is the winner. Basically, it is normal Stars! except that after a period of time and at set intervals thereafter the lowest scoring player is eliminated ( Banned from uploading on AH ). game will be on AH. J patch.

It will be a fast paced game with one turn per weekday. No stops other than AH crashes or significant holiday periods.

It will be normal, medium, distant, accbbs, PPS. No pre game alliances, all players set to enemy at all times. In game communication to all only.

I would like as many as possible. With 15/16 eliminations commence at 2430 and every 5 years thereafter; 13/14 2440 and every 5; 10-12 2450 and every 5.

If a player drops but still has a higher score they will remain 'in play' and could still win I suppose !

This is a fun game concept, any standard welcome. It'll only take about 20 weeks and definitely finishes around 2500.

By these rules do you mean to adhere to the strict letter of the ruling or is there some flexibility, eg. If I announced to all to send a certain tech on scouts for wolf/lamb or scrapping towards a general vicinity and another certain tech would be returned, is this allowed? Smile

Please note, that the above is merely an example and not necessarily a message that I would send.

A message that I might be more inclined to send would be something like: "We of the Gravediggers are a peaceful race and request that any attacks be directed towards your other neighbours" (perhaps better than that but you get the idea).
So would that sort of message be allowed? Smile

I do perceive a possible problem of policing private emails between players. Players that have met before might be tempted to communicate and there's no way this could be detected.
My only suggestion on that is to keep players of the game secret from each other and perhaps allocate a name to each race yourself. Not allowing identification (besides the allocated name) via the ingame messages would be essential.
What do you think?

Lastly, did you have in mind a skill level or range?

This game sounds interesting if this game is skewed toward more advanced players. I honestly would prefer a smaller universe, however. Larger universes cause out of control MM. Smaller planet/player ratio results in more fun and less work. Small packed w/ 16 players and medium sparse w/ 16 is preferable. Slow tech also makes things more interesting. This makes PRT-specific toys far more valuable and makes the game less of a race to nubians. Also makes the game extremely competitive and fun w/out having to work like hell just to balance 50 planets worth of minerals.

Sma/pac and Med/sparse, you'll find almost all PRTs viable. AR has some trouble in sma/pac and IT isn't quite as powerful as it is in larger universes.

To make the game for as interesting for as long as possible, I think it would be better to extend the amount of time between ejections. Otherwise the game dynamic will very quickly swing in favor of he who has the most dead neighbors. I suggest a minimum of 10. The process of war in the game tends to naturally de-select players. Smile

I would like to be included.

Can I suggest some additions to the rules to stop players avoid conflict through specific battle plans. Basically setting someone to enemy doesnt make your ships attack them if you change their battle plans.

Were you planning to have public player scores?

ok that could of made more sence.

One of the game criteria is to set everyone to enemy. I assume this is to make your ships fight other ships at the same location. You could avoid fighting your enemies by changing your fleets battle plan. You can even specify which enemy to attack in a battle plan.

Personally I dont think in game alliances cause much of a problem anyway. and you will never stop people having NAPs which is half the value of an ally.

A better plan is to make the game winner take all. Smaller universes are easier to scout completely. Thus, you still have the challenge of fighting an intel war, while not needing to go completely insane with MM.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I wanted everyone to enemy to at least discourage NAPS etc. Also there is no way of policing some of the parameters regarding communication but if most of the players comply then it is difficult for others not to.

I am on holiday next week but in September I will make a big push to get this game underway by contacting a lot of players I know directly. I will also finalise the parameters based on what has been contributed in the discussion.

Greetings all,

Currently I have 8 firm interests of whom 5 have sent race files. Those being me, SB, David Grimmer, Mig and Skandal.

I would like to get into double figures if at all possible.
Go on, it'll be a Laughing send me that race file.

I have decided to keep the game parameters unchanged as originally posted above.
