I was thinking of hosting a slightly strange game over the summer, mainly aimed at students who don't have work over the long break. (Are there many around here besides myself?)
It would consist of a turn generated every hour or maybe two hours on AH, the idea being that relatively long-term strategies be played out over a relatively brief time real-time period, hence eliminating the need to make notes on what you were doing two months ago in order to follow a plan through to its conclusion (or is that just me?).
Obviously, the majority of players (ie. those who have lives, and a need for sleep from time to time) would be unable to submit turns every hour, but would this be too much of a problem if players were aware of this fact, and able to plan ahead - issue enough orders to last til morning?
Of course, the game would need to be conducted in a tiny universe to stop the time taken in giving a turn's worth of orders from overtaking the time between gens.
So my actual question is threefold:
1) Is that actually possible within the structure of AH?
2) Would anybody be interested in such a daft concept game?
3) Is that a really, really stupid idea?
Regards,
Chris

Hi!

... and then some one from a different time zone would see you are not submitting turns and would send a small fleet of bombers to kill your breeder or two in 5 (free) turns.
I'd suggest you rather play blitz every day.
BR, Iztok
