We have recently taken control of the FreeStars project on SourceForge http://sourceforge.net/projects/freestars/

The source for the server is up there. There is also a GStars project for a client being worked on by TomT at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gstars/

Compilation instructions are in the docs area.

Currently the server doesn't do much, it will read a .hst file and do some of the turn processing, and output a new .hst file (actually goes to .hstnew for debugging so it won't erase the input file).

The turn processing is nowhere near completion yet, but it does do some things.
