New Game starting - June 1st, 2004

Hey there fellow Stars! players, id like to start a new game, huge universe, 16 players, standard rules, all player lvls accepted - no Ai, team game suggested, and one team wins.

Game will play one round every two days, for as long as it takes.

If your interested, please send me your race files, passworded of course, to Geoffrey_Joyner@Yahoo.com

Can you limit the player skill levels a bit?

I remember a case when sole expert did beat 5 pre-game teams of 3 intermediates. "One team may win" rule and he had only one race in his winning "team".

What is "team" in your case?

Oh, sure thing - wouldnt want that happening.

Iv been interested in 'Stars!' since the game came out, when I was about 10.

Im a former US Marine Corps Officer, and I currently work for a very well known bank on the east coast.

Anything else you guys want to know?

(Btw, Iv heard about the 'Creating population' cheat, but are there more out there ? iv never really looked them up)

Yea, limiting player skills sounds like a good idea, depending on what the majority of player skills are available.

Iv played one game where a 'Human Player' kicked over 12K in the first 50 years, that kind of 'Playing' is almost impossible without calculators and/or programs to help maximize your races potential.

These kinds of players, will of course not be allowed.

You can find a list of cheats at: http://www.starsfaq.com/bugs.htm

Or the cheat list here at the forum (in the Academy) is, that one is more up to date.

Just a quick comment
lots of people can easily get 25k by 2450 in testbeds (I admit in a live game its much harder). Maybe I am reading it wrong but if you think 12K by turn 50 is too good to be true you are in for a nasty surprise. Shocked 3

Might be because there was another game advertised that looks like yours a couple of days ago: "Huge Universe game for intermediate players" (it went from huge to large),
