New game for Beginner and Intermediate players - "Get orf moi land"

I'm looking to recruit players for a 10 player Beginner/Intermediate game.

I'm looking for players who have played no more than 5 or 6 games. Please don't email me to join if your more experienced than that.
Newbies welcome, but be aware i'm hoping to fill most of he slots with players who have played at least once before.

The game is provisionally called: "Get orf moi land".

Rules
1. No more than 10 players. HOST will be playing.
3. Accelerated BBS play, Public Player Scores, Galaxy Clumping.
4. No CA race.
5. HE allowed but max growth rate restrictions will apply.
6. Restrictions on other race growth rates.
7. Alliances and diplomacy encouraged but there can only be one winner.
8. Chaff allowed
9. No cheating (fleet splitting allowed within reason)

We currently have 5 players, once I reach 7+ Ill post more specific details about galaxy and race creation.

Turns will be generated every 24 hours for the first few weeks to get us started, then we'll move to fixed turns somewhere in the region of 3 turns a week.

Thanks for the interest in the game.
Everyone that has replied should have had an email about the game. If not please post or email me.

Srry i've been slow to respond. I kicked the post of just before I went on holiday.

Anyway, I hope to have the details of the game finalised and emailed out no later than two weeks from now.
Everyone gets at least a week to submit races, so hopefully we'll start in about three weeks from now.

I'll also post final details up here.

I can fit a few more players in if there is still interest.
Please remember this is a beginner to intermediate game.
Most players have played once or twice before, so please don't join if your a past master. You'll roll the Galaxy up in 30 turns and have a bunch of very unhappy newbies moaning about you every week.

Cool,
Theres still places.
We currently have 8 confirmed, but can go over 10 if there enough interest.

I will post the game story/background, race creation rules and game rules on this forum on Saturday June5th.

I'll also email the above to everyone thats shown an interest.
Please remember this is a beginner to intermediate game etc etc etc..

The game will start on autohost on the 15th of June.

I'll need the races in by 13th of June.

Sorry again about how long this has taken. If I HOST again I'll finalise the game rules before I start recruiting players!

Right, finally as promised the rules:

The game should start on 15th of June.
I'll need races in before then.

Get Orf Moi Land!
In the year 2400 the imperium of man, insectoid, robotoid, gerbiloid and a variety of
other strangely named races has achieved warp flight.
Your people are keen to explore the stars and bring your enlightened rule to the dark corners
of the galaxy.
However there is a problem. Your spy's have warned you the galaxy is infested with evil enemy
races who have their own nefarious plans for galactic domination.
There is only one solution to this menace. War!
If your mighty forces can control 35% of the galaxy these misguided heathens will acknowledges
the light of your empire and bow to your rule.
Your people await your command emperor...

The rules:

A small Universe with maximum density
This has 240 planets.
We are aiming for 10 players so we should have 24 planets within each players empire on average.
The only win condition is owning 35% of planets after 70 years.
We will have accelerated BBS play and public player scores.
Player starting positions will be distant (still very close in this galaxy).

Chaff will be allowed.
Fleet splitting and other exploits are not.

Race creation:
Claim Adjuster and Hyper Expansion Races are banned.
The maxium growth rate allowed is 15%.

General advice:

The idea of the game is hopefully we'll all be involved in some interesting early game
fights so everyone will feel they've participated in the game.

To win you will need to control 35% of planets.
This may seem difficult if all planets are not green to you. However all planets can be
colonised no matter how red they are. The minimum hab size of a planet is 5% so every planet no
matter how bad the growth rate can support 50k people. The population will go down, but as
long as you keep 1k on he planet you will remain in control.
So if you reach a point where 35% of planets in the game are within or just outside of the borders,
colonise them all and win!

I wound suggest players went for races that can look after themselves very quickly. Late game
Economic races may not survive long enough to get going.
