I just switched to Outlook Express 6 and I can't save the *.m? files to disk. All other attachments work ok, but these don't. The "File | Save attachements" option is grayed out as well as all the options in the menu that pops up when you click the clip icon in the message.

Anybody got any suggestions for this guy?? About how to FIX his problem, no flames on Outlook Express 6 and no plugs about how GREAT your other programs are, please Smirk

Thanks Disco

Try from the menu:

Tools - options - security

If the "Do not allow attachments to be saved ..." option is checked then unchecking it may solve your problem.

Is there a message saying Outlook has removed some "dangerous" attachments from the e-mail ?

In XP it is quite possible that any file extension it doesn't recognise it will simply not let you access.

This is Microsoft's take on the feature. It gives instructions on how to add or remove attachment types from the list.
