Well, get something set up in terms of players and I can help with getting the game going by doing the 3rd party shifting.
There was a thread on the rec.games.computer.stars newsgroup about the best 2-race combination. Maybe try to get something going along those lines. Maybe 4 2-race teams (is that 2x4 or 4x2?) in a medium, or more than that in a slightly larger set-up.
A 4x4 game in a medium will probably get you some immediate conflict too -- however such a game will probably lead to most races being HG-ish simply from necessity.

I was looking for something along the lines of two teams of four to eight. (Maybe 4 teams of 4, or 3 teams of 5 if there are a lot of people interested).
