I've seen a number of posts and articles (generally about overcloaking) that talk about how you should be using different cloaks and quantities depending on your biotech.

Why????? Confused

Is there any relationship between your cloak % and your biotech level (or your opponent's biotech level) ? Confused

It affects the cost of certain armor parts (Specifically the very cheapest one).

And you use cheap armor for weight, because weight is a crucial factor for overcloaking; it's a GOOD thing.

But price is also relevant; so the price of armor affects the optimal layout.

There are two factors that affect how good the overcloaker is. Heavier is better and more and better cloaks is better. Slots however are limited.

Armor is usually used to raise overcloaker weight. Typically crobnium or tritanium because these are most heavy and most cheap. The IS or SD mine dispensers are heavier but they cost lot more so they are not cost efficient.

Crobnium cost miniaturizes as your level in construction raise. Construction is usually maxed to 26 when people start to build overcloakers because they use nubian hull for that. SS needs less slots for overcloaker so SS may use Battleships as overcloaker.

Tritanium has no tech required to build it. It miniaturizes as quick as your lowest field of tech. People consider Bio as most unimportant so the lowest is usually Bio.

So the Crobnium is more cost efficient to use for weight until certain levels of bio ... i think it was Bio 14.

You wouldn't happen to be researching cloakers because of me?
