I dont know why, but I dont understand remote mining - well in the game I'm in anyway.

I have 4642 remote miners, each with 2*Alien Miners.

The mineral concentration of the planet I am on is: 49/51/38

My calculation is thus: (4642*20)*0.49 or 0.51 or 0.38 depending on the mineral.

By my reckoning I should get :45491 kT Ironium, 47348 kT Boranium and 25279 kT Germanium. Yet my minig rate with this one super fleet is 1960/2040/1520! Not the return I expected.

Can anyone explain this at all? Whats even stranger is this is what I would expect from 200 miners, not 4642. So in a little experiment I broke the fleet down into 200 miner-units, and they all mine at this 'broken' rate! Is there a max number of miners that can be in a fleet, or is this just a little annoying bug?
Of course if I break down the fleet into this smaller set of fleets, then I mine at what my original calcualtion would show.

Points: I have not testbedded outside of this game. I have not reached the max number of fleets.

Any help?

Sweet as a nut.

To limit the power of huge mining fleets ability to strip a world in one turn without depleating the concentration, there is a limit of 4000 mines per fleet.
So split your fleet up into fleets of 200 miners each, and you'll get a bigger yeild.
