Faster game play

How many players would be interested in a "slow blitz start" game? The idea being to organise a time (eg Sunday 0800-1100 GMT) when all players could play and thus turn over at least the initial turns faster. In between times normal 24/48hr gens would be in effect.
This would be abandoned later when the turns get too big - say when we only manage 1-2 turns over the 3hr period.

If there's enough interest I'll consider organising such a game as a non-playing host.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather have the former 'Full Speed' series revived.

FYI it had all turn gens set to something like 3 or 4 hours. Evidently noone could avoid missing turns, which was part of the game. If you couple it with slower tech advances, things won't get out of hand too quickly and the game will probably be longer than otherwise (like 150 years).

Galaxy parameters I don't know about, but it probably shouldn't be hughe (hughe, packed and a HE race Cool

)

heh sounds like some sort of nightmare to me...but then I have this life that keeps getting in the way of Stars!. That and I like 8hrs sleep each night.

8 hours.....hehe....I haven't gotten 8 hours of sleep in a long time. I consider a long night of sleep to be 7 hours.

anyway, The idea does sound interesting, but I am already in a game (a large universe one so MM will start to get out of hand) and college is starting to get busy with the end of the semester getting closer and all. Perhaps at the beginning of next year I would be interested in joining a game, but my current schedule just doesn't allow it.
