Heh ...I don't mind...the real question is does James mind? I doubt it, but then I haven't gotten a reply from him about my making my local copy of his site available to all and sundry either.

Hi!
From RGCS:
"Due to a DNS misconfiguration starsfaq.com is currently offline. I corrected the settings, but it seems to be taking a while for the changes to propergate through the internet.

In the meantime, there is a temp mirror at
http://www.earthemergency.org/starsfaq/"

Still using Tree thread view? Known bug in this version of the forum software, that some replies aren't visible in tree view.

No, not using that.
When you use the little arrow (behind the last posters name) in the "Last Post" view it brings you to the last post in the thread and it turns older posts in that thread "read" ... I think that is what happened, I thought I already had read the message ...
Rather annoying side effect, guess I have to remind myself not to use it anymore. Grin

The starsfaq.com seems to be back up and running now. Sorry for the downtime and any problems this has caused.

The problem was half to due a change in the DNS settings and half due to a server misconfiguration from my webhost. The problem seems to be resolved now and I don't foresee any further outages (though I didn't foresee this one coming.

There are also mirrors at:
www.starsfaq.b0x.com/index.htm
www.dbj.freeyellow.com/index.htm
Though I've lost the login details for these mirrors.

Also got a mirror at www.earthemergency.org/starsfaq/ - not sure if I'll make this permanant or not though.

I know how frustrating it can be when your webhost changes their settings arbitrarily and screws everything up. Hit Computer

Regarding www.earthemergency.com, I'm an Environmental Chemistry student so I'm digging through the site even now.

Yup, looks like this problem is resolved. Thanks J. Twisted Evil

Good to know that we have a backup floating around... Very Happy

So James, when are you going to update "bugs" to include the "Cheap Starbase Trick"? Razz
