All AR game |

I've never hosted a game and I'd like to try...
Since there's such interest in the AR thread I thought an all AR game might do quite well.
Medium normal or Small Dense will be the galaxy of choice.
Players upto 9 (8 of you guys and I'd play an observer race... probably JOAT so you all know not to attack me!!!)
Accel BBS on
Public player scores at 2490.
Winner decided by domination, vote to end, or by rank in the year 2500 (giving 10 years for the players to know who's winning and to rip them apart).
max 1 player set to ally.
Chaff allowed, split fleet ABUSE is banned (it's ok to split and run but any blatent abuse will be persecuted).
E-mail passworded races (with the password provided) to "barry at thefreakshow.org.uk" replace the " at " with @ just incase you didn't understand

48 hours I can do, I also suggest you make the universe a med dense or larger, to allow us time to get a moderate defense. good penalty by the way, I suggest you have a neutral third party come in and delete the design or designs. Ummm, are you playing as well? if so please get a nuetral third party to check races.

I was planning on playing an observer race. I'd also have access to everyone's turns.
I planned to make a sweet little video of how each race expanded and a timeline report etc....
This way I'd have to have access to everyone turns, which in turns allows me to spot kill starbase orders - but everyone should still watch their starbase attractiveness (if your SB is more attractive... tough its your own fault).
I wanted to play no bigger than a medium galaxy to make sure that in those last 10 turns every single race remaining will have the ability to have some effect on the final outcome.
Before anyone asks I'll be generating several galaxies to ensure that the middle race in the 3x3 (hence 9 races wanted) set up will be the observer (a OWW JOAT race).
I want to do this so I can look at how different AR races perform. I'm going to post a report at the end of the game with some minor details about the race (gr, lrts and starting hab - e.g. 17%, IFE + TT, 1/4 hab) and how they performed.
Every turn will be backed up in a folder (for each turn - 2400, 2400, etc...) which will be zipped and mailed to the player who wants to analyse their own race performance.
This is another reason for the 48 hour generations!!!
Anyone who requests that their race information+turns not be given out will have this information kept secret.
Medium normal or medium sparse would be the better options.
I don't want to give everyone too long to develop defenses since the game is ending in 2500.

1. "King of the hill" games are fun. Especially when the one who takes the planet is the one who can no longer have any allies. It's interesting because you have judge both your ability to attack the planet AND your ability to defend it. Just to note though that the only game like this I played in was plagued by a seriously devious SS player. The turn before the winner was declared he launched a warfleet he'd spent the entire game ammassing. Set all his freighters to waypoint 1 drop. That was it... turn generated and the game was stolen from an IS player who had held the planet for the last 7 years. Which is why from now on at the point when a winner can be declared a race must own the planet for set number of turns... this is fun because, if for example they have to hold the planet for 4 turns then on the 5th one, you get a massive desperate battle to deprive the owner of the planet in a final bid to keep the game alive. After this game is over I may look into hosting/playing such a game again.
2. I indeed plan to hold the passwords and to *hopefully* find replacements for any drop outs. But *hopefully* there wont be any.
**** 4 races are now in. Only 4 spaces remain!!!! ****

I've never found skill indicators to be of value. To be honest in every game there is someone who over-rates his skill and someone who under-rates it.
Plus this is an all AR game, of which I don't think there have been a huge number of. It's easy to design the usual races.. but how about an AR designed to tear up another AR?

Well so far no-one has said it's their first game.
EDog has sent in a race so with you and him there are at least 2 veterans in the game (despite the fact that neither of you are hardcore AR players that I know of).
It'd be nice to get Apelord to play... if he still reads this forum.
we now have 5 races in.... only 3 to go!!!
