when observing enemy planets, i have the feeling the screen shows slightly false defense values. they dond differ much, but a bit...

can someone give some way to calculate the true value?

or some rule of thumb how to estimate the true defense status?

I think I read somewhere that they put this into the game to simulate the fact that you don't have anyone on the planet and therefore cannot get an exact reading of how many defenses are left or the exact coverage that is there. However, this rule may only apply to colonists.

Well... I read about that, too

But I am pretty sure this results in +/- 10% pop-count only...

Also it always shows the same value on full defended planets, so I dont think it is a random factor...

Thanks anyway... the -5% rule is good for my current situation, as I am the one who has to decide to pop-drop or not Smile
