So, I have to admit, I haven't been giving this game nearly as much attention as I should be. I recently had too many other real life things going on, and I've also developed something of an unhealthy interest in poker. Anyhow - taking a good look at our status in this game - our rankings of 10, 9, 7, 3, 12, and 11 - I'm wondering if it's even worth attempting to revitalize this game??

If so I might have some more input on how we could improve our wolf/lamb trading.

If not, we should probably just end it - and get a fresh CTF game started.

I think the early departures by our teammates, a lousy race design by the Shades, and our poor locations - two IS races on the front lines, with our WM in the back row - has lead us to this rather disappointing game. An IT race would have been very helpful, and I think we've all seen the power of their JOAT for early scouting.

Anyhow, let me know you thoughts.

I say end it and start again. Of course, I'm mostly saying this as I'd prefer to play my own race Razz than the shades Rolling Eyes ...

Very Happy

I think I made my opinion known quite early on -- and its been an uphill battle since then. I'm curious to hear the opinions of those who wanted to fight on back then: do you still think its worth playing underdog? (or should that be "playing under EDog"?).

Well Im in 2 minds - the situation looks very bleak, I am currently being attacked on 3 sides and I cant raise enough forces to repell all of the attacks (and I dont think I will be getting any help as you all have your own problems).
We are way behind and are likely to just fall further (the Shades will never be any real help and Atreides just have too few planets - I have more greens and I can only live on 1/27).
We would be setting up a fighting retreat the whole way.

On the other hand the other team has put in 2 months worth of playing (as have we) and it seems a bit weak to say "We are losing so we give up"
Although as pointed out above the main reason we are in such a bad situation is the 2 players that are no longer with us
(ie you expect an AR to have a low ranking and be protected by its teammates not for the AR to have to help a CA).

dont like quitting, dont like playing with one hand behind my back - I will go along with majority decision.
Joseph

While they might have 2 months invested in winning, I'm not sure that they'd want to spend another two months grinding us down only to find out that we'd figured it was a foregone conclusion from about turn 10 on and were just humouring them from that point on. The game should be a contest, not a cakewalk.

I suggest that we take the active players we have now, re-submit new races for the same universe conditions and rules, and have EDog regenerate a new game. The teams will get shuffled, we'll know everybody is at least truly interested in playing, and has a properly licensed copy of the game.

I'll email EDog with that request - and see what they think about it.
