Small question. Sherlock
How do I remove my own starbases from a planet ?
For instance to allow an ally (non AR if that makes any difference) to pop-drop there.

Thanks,
M

2 ways that I can think of
1) get your ally to kill it for yoy;
2) build a new SB design, (1 of a kind), and delete it next turn. Works well if you have the slots.

It makes a big difference! AR don't like, err can't survive in a planetary environment. They effectively cannot popdrop.

3) Downgrade, to your lowest rating starbase so that your ally has an easy time killing off the base.

Deleting your design will only work if the popdrop is a manual waypoint 0 task.

If I delete it then surely they can drop the following year regardless ?

I think he meant this the other way around:
IF the popdrop is a manual waypoint 0 task, deleting is the only method that will work.

I would think that if you deleted the starbase (design) in 2450, in 2451 the ally would be able to drop. Waypoint 0 or 1. Take yer pick.

If you make the base an empty orbital fort or something, just about any escort ship will kill it, and then he can get it in the same year on a waypoint 1 drop.

Never thought of just making and deleting.. always made my ally bring a ship (or made him a ship and transferred) - then come to think of it - he always forgot the change the orders of his ship after killing me - hmmmm, maybe the starbase deletion (after changing it to a design for that purpose) isn't such a bad idea Nod

It is amazing how many of those "careless mistakes" people can make.
