Now that the jig is up, anyone want to tell all about their designs?

I'm most curious about EDog's race design - it's as if he made a OWW -f WM design, with OWW habitat! What was the plan behind it?

Also, did anyone notice the player ID SD minelayer bug? I'm curious whether it had any impact on the game.

Are you calling the game?
Yes, the jig is up for General Kurtz, but we still have a BBQ to attend. We have just engaged warp drives and are on our way.

Old Mac, if you start the BBQ now, we should be there just on time. Rare please Smile

If anyone interested my PWD is "teskosranje". My race was intentionally designend for more minerals and less speed. My minefields would give me just those 2 more turns I'd need to max out my HW.

As for the Farm race ...

The bad thing:
Since I couldn't keep my big mouth shut in the OWW thread the host asked me to handicap my race ... Sad I learned my lesson now. Wink
So I took an SS, IMHO next to HE somewhat the worst PRT in a tiny OWW game. The cloack doesn't matter much, there is simply no place to hide (especially not for SDs and JoaTs), and since you have only one world ... well ...
In my hubris Grin I even went further and made it a "HP race" ... 1/2500 resources ...Shocked
If I would ever conquer a second HW without factories it would take long to get it up to speed ...

The good thing:
What I learned about my previous OWW experience is that you run short on minerals eventually (and rather fast once you start building), when that happens you'll have to manage with the fleet that you have, if you lose it you're dead (even with your HW intact), no way to build up a second fleet.
So I tried to get my mine settings as good as I could get, sacrificing resources. This turned out very well since I mined 1000kT per mineral each turn, more than enough to build 4 weap16 beamer BBs per turn, limit here were my resources.

That's interesting.. A lot of minerals would help a lot, because then you can build a lot of Jihad BBs. I had no problem with resources because of spacepop so next time I'll put my focus on mining.

I had fun though, for a few years I was in the lead. It was a good game!

My password was 'Sancho' so have a look at it if you like.

Alex.
