New Stars game, I point the start at end of Feb. if we get enough players by then.
Number of players:
I'd like to find room for everybody interested. However, extremely large games can get a little tedious.
So I'll limit the game to 12 players. As we have less active players I would start even with lesser players, but we will see.
Universe size:
Determined by the number of players. I'm aiming for about 30 planets per player and will choose the universe size accordingly.
The universe will be remaped to a ring, so each player has 1 other player to each side.
Game Settings:
All game settings will be left unmarked, with the exception of "Accelerated BBS Play" and "No Random events"
Universe size will be determined as described above.
Player positions are moved to fit in the ring universe.
Every player will vote for the skill level of the players. This number will give the position in the universe. It should prevent that a strong player overruns a weaker one and all loose the fun of the game.
I will give an example universe as far as I know how many players will be around.
By the remaping it will only be looked at the distance between players and the planets in 1 year and 2 year jump.
The planets will be random as normal in stars so it could be that you have 30% Germanium on the HW and no greens around (Except PP and IT).(Pray for the Hab God  )
Turns:
Daily gens until at least 2420. We will go down to 5 Turns a week by Players vote (1/3 of the player is enough to slow down).
After we run at least 10 years with 5 turns a week a new vote for 3 turns a weak can be made (vote of 50% needed).
Normally I don't want to slow more as it makes the game last for ever, but we can speak about it.
All player can ask 1 time for more time to remove 1 gen for 1 time until 2435, after this you get 1 more. This is only the possibility to ask and it will be granded if the 3. party can handle it.
So if you say you wanna skip a turn 5 Minutes before the gen you can be lucky that the 3. Person is around, but it would be your problem if he can't do it in time.
Races:
All ok.
Diplomacy:
All player set everyone to enemies, at all time of the game. It is a 1 player victory. No tech trade allowed.
But speak with everyone is OK as this is hard to control and sometimes as funny as the game.
Conditions of victory:
The victor is declared if all active players vote for him or noone is left

Yes, I'm up for it.....
I guess the only real question is if Stars! Players still exist.
I guess the two-year jump is to stop the spurious scan results from the remap eh?

The 2 year jumps only means the count of planets you have in your range. So 81 lj and 162 lj.

I would say the game will last 12 Month+ . You can join if you want, by setup you will have a good spot to start. But it will be real hard to play a MP against other humans for the first time.

Hey you two, thanks for the fast reply. Well, I did ask for a specific reason, since I may or may not start a two months long hiking tour lasting from May to June. Sadly it isn't set in stone yet, whether it takes place or not. So, if it does I am effectively out of game, whatever the state of game is at that specific time. It's up to you, whether I then should rather stay put and wait for a game later that year. But maybe you're right and I will have a hard time (read: die early) and won't even be around by that time anyway 😂
Usually I prep hard before I enter the MP part of a game to make sure I am not too much of a noob but stars! is a different beast so I can't tell.
Anyway, you have the important info on the table, so it's totally up to you to decide.
One more thing: I usually love the diplomacy part of TBS multy faction MP games. I know it's a Deathmatch, No techtrade Game, so only one can win. This is clear. But since talking is allowed, I assume this to be like an FFA game with a lot of temporary alliances to get the current leader down etc. Is this assumption correct?

Speaking is allowed but playing togetter is not allowed. So diplomaty is not needed. But a lit of people know each other and like to speak about the game, what yoz cant block or controll. But we all should spay for us alone. I know that raindancer offerd a short replacement if someone need it in the game. So would may work for your hikking. Check discord for it.
