I'm not sure about German, but in English Stars! there is no hull called "Colonizer". The 1-mech-slot-only ships are called the "Mini-Colony Ship" and "Colony Ship" (although there is a very obscure reference if you try to put an Orbital Construction Module on something else calling it "the Colonizer hull".

I'd read "colonizer without colonization module" to mean a ship with a "zero of Colonization Module/Orbital Construction Module" slot rather than a Colony Ship with something other than a Colonization Module (to be 100% technical, the latter would forbid AR from colonising anything, as they can only build Orbital Construction Modules).

As it is a "silent" game the time needed to play is ok, I would play in 2 games.

Let the host check the racefiles and talk to the players... if we have 2 games, maybe they can be split up
In other words... lets not delay due to a problem we probably dont have... and if he have it let the host sort it out and convince one of the players to change the PRT.
All SD players should probably work on a second race which is not SD.
And maybe the host decides that there can be only one SD on FCFS basis?

can we have the *.bmp for generating the universe to us the same for testing ?

I like more the old way with testbed then only moving numbers in excel.

I read it as

You can build all the colony ships you want without a colonisation module on it.

But you can only build 5 of these ships

Colonize without Colonizer
If you use "Copy Selected Design" on a ship with a colonisation module (e.g. Santa Maria, Pinta, Spore Cloud, or user-created Privateer), then remove the colonisation module and leave the slot that contained it empty, the ship can still colonise planets despite not having a colonisation module.
* and I think this works on any ship with a General Purpose slot.

Anything else would make AR just about unplayable in the first part of the game, but also you should stick a fuel pod on a colony ship if your going to use it for cargo anyway.

I don't think AR needs that advantage in this game anyway, as we start only with 25k pop and enemy is far away.

I will do a preliminary check on files received tomorrow after my exam. I will verify that everyone is within the rules, and that PRTs are not insane. We have 9 players. Expect an email from me with a deadline and contact information.

Since the game Once More isn't consuming every second of my spare time anymore, I am free to do both setup and Host the game if that's still needed.

You will find the bitmap I used in the following archive. It also contains the two utilities needed to generate a testbed. Create a universe with your race (Large, Normal, Distant). Use UnivCrt.exe and the bitmap to get it into shape. Then use stretch.exe with the parameters 3 7 to get the correct distances. Then go back to UnivCrt.exe to move your HW to one of the clusters.

Yes, that was a sample for 8 players.

We have 9 players now. Two of those would like to play in two games at the same time. If there are any others, please let me know. I'm looking around for someone to host the second game (Victor would be willing to do the setup for both). If I find a host and at least 1 more player turns up, we could go for two games of six players each. What I do not want to do is have one game with 8 players and one with only 4.

Sorry if this is all still a little uncertain. But I do want to accomodate as many players as would like to play.

You can use the sample universe provided for any of these setups, the distances and densities will be very, very similar. The only difference will be the distance to the neighbouring HW-clusters. And (of course) the time before you meet other races in the centre.

If anybody has objections to playing in a game with 6 players instead of 9, please let me know.

Game was setup for up to 12 players, I dont like the idea of sliting down to 2 games of 6.
More players, are more fun.

Rule clarifications:

If more than 2 players submit an SD-race, Victor will solve that problem with the players concerned.

Rules about AR colonisers without colonising modules will be clarified by Victor in direct contact with any player who submits an AR-race.

If there are AR races in the game, the following holds: AR-planets may not be attacked with 'kill starbase'-orders. If planets belonging to other races in the vinciníty of an AR-planet are attacked, ships with 'kill starbase'-orders may not target fleets, they have to target the planet.

Please remember that all communications are banned. That includes all ingame messages.

Please do not give your race a name which you always use (ccmaster? No Traders! Very Happy
