Hi

It's been a long time and I couldn't find my original login email or password so I had to re-register. I wonder if I can re-take my old username?

Anyway. I was thinking fondly of stars for many months recently and logged back on and was surprised to see a community existing for this ancient Windows game!

I didn't play Stars so much (or so I thought) but enough that it almost ended the relationship with my girlfriend Very Happy

Anyway. I am tempted to play again, but scared about being sucked back into it Wink

Just really wanted to say hello!

PricklyPea

I doubt it - unless it still sits on an old hard disk somewhere. I thought I made most of the stuff I had available so maybe someone still has a copy...

I hope I still have the file with annotations of the reverse engineered code - who knows how much time I sunk into looking at this addictive game Very Happy

I don't have a windows computer any more either, so I guess I'd better figure out how to get this thing working on Linux...

I'm sure there were others using wine or using Linux to play stars. I expect they'll posts their advise in the next couple of hours...

Thanks! I managed to get into my old hotmail account (which for some reason was locked out for the past months). Nice to be back.

Actually, I just played the Twilight Imperium board game as a quick substitute for Stars! Very Happy Would recommends stars players here take a look.

Agreed, Twlight Imperium 3 is an awesome board game, I just wish we could finish it in less than 6 hours.
