Status as of Thursday, August 18 @ 14:50 GMT:
LittleEddie - Race in and validated
BeeKeeper - Race in and validated
I will gen the game as soon as (1) all the race files are in and (2) we get the final decision on random events. I'll even carefully send out the first year (and .xy file) while we wait for Ron to get it up on AutoHost so you can mull over your starting moves.
Host - do we have a deadline for getting race files in? It can be whenever from my perspective, but just curious.
Cheers,
Void

I can only hope they will war with someone else to slow them down.

Yep. I made a run with the SOB race in 2001. Game called Beer and Pretzels. Took out two close neighbors early. And was overpowering all the way to 2509, game end. Came out strong and in second place in that one.
Out of 12, only 5 were left in a small, packed, but normal techs.
W, C and N cheap, L normal.
But in this game might go C, N, P cheap
Or P normal and L cheap.
Winner was -f CA. He ended up with entire north and part of southwest on map. He was intersettled with my permission in the southwest; south was my base. He was in NAP with me early in game, and I got minelayers and traded tech with him. Of course no trading in this game, but everyone in same boat.
I yielded victory to him, because we were too tired to battle it out, after others gave up, and he probably was stronger anyway.

Well, that remains to be tested, doesn't it?
If he takes out two neighbors very early, as I did, and gets three to one planets he can certainly keep up with the Joneses for a good while. And be ready and able for number three?
There are other ways to get W tech than trading. How about kills?
The race I played was playing on the same level playing field as everyone else. Same costs. Likely my -f WM wasn't the only one with cheap W in that game either. So cost comparisons between -f and factory in this game might be similar ratio, in terms of resources available versus costs.
