I will not play HE if I play in this game.
And I have to stop playing it now before in all games are CA baned and HE -F for ccmaster Twisted Evil

Still looking for a partner but noone has time so far.

Thanx for the E-Mails but I will not play with someone I dont know in this game. Have not the time for doing so.

Not scared. Just when you start next to the -f HE you'll have a very hard time. Even if you survive you'll be severely crippled while other teams might expand more peacefully for the first 50 years ...
What's the fun in being killed in the first 20 years when you didn't even have had the opportunity to play as a team. A lot of wasted pre-game time and there aren't too many team games these days ...

Hi all,

Just got back from holidays so only checked my email today. CCMaster asked me to team up with him but Shadow if you're keen I'm more than happy to wait for the next game.

Currently playing in Topeka so will only play if you need another player.

That leaves who not paired up? ne1? if my calculations are right it leaves only Rolf if he is not overwhelmed with too many games... I don't care, I just want to play.

It looks like we are almost full.

We still need a volunteer to check races and remap the universe. This game won't get off the ground (or we will have to drastically change the game rules) without this volunteer. Any takers?

Just reading previous posts, I vote for NOT allowing an ally to submit the others turns.

IMHO playing a team game involves all players submitting turns, yeah sure communicate all you want but at the end of the day you have to trust your teamates.

You work as a team, you're fleets are coordinated for a game deciding battle, you've got eachothers last 100% uptodate .x file, then you don't hear from your teammate in the last hour before gen ... you wait ... you see 0:01 left on the timer ... you wait and see the dreadful blue diamond after the next painful refresh of the game page ... 5 minutes later, after watching your fleet getting slaughtered since it was the only one that moved, your teammate shows up online "sorry, power failure" ...

Can you really give your word and keep it in such a situation?

Of course in some cases a battle might not be game deciding but stil could present a possible setback of which you won't recover ... not to mention the 15-year planning it took to get this far ...

i change my vote that teammates should be able to submit... after seeing what can happen in an alliance game. there is going to be massive coordination neway.

I've only quickly scanned through the thread, so hopefully I haven't missed something important ...

But ...

I'm not sure what the problem is.

If a team member doesn't want the other to upload a turn for them, shouldn't they just tell their team-mate this?

If you really want to make sure, don't give your partner the upload password. AH can be made to email both turn files to each team member, so both of them can still see each others game files as quickly as possible.

That way, mutual upload is just another game option/strategy that the team must manage if they take that route with the subsequent advantages and potential pitfalls that ensue.

So why the need to vote about it? A team either does it or they don't and they can always change their mind at any time.

I'll be playing in another game, so I'll pass on this one.

That means I can volunteer for setting up the game and checking the race files.

I haven't done it before, but that shouldn't pose a problem. It can't be rocket science and in that I'm actually quite good Smile However, if someone can help me with a few hints and the necessary files that would help...

I should be able to set it up within a day or two after getting all the races. Particularly, if I can already do some tests before that.

Let's try to get teams finalized in the next few days so we can make a final decision on universe and thus final race decisions. It looks like we have enough players for 7 teams, we need one more for 8. Those needing team members, please join up with each other if you are willing.

I have seen no votes for large universe, so we are going with medium. It will be medium dense for 7 teams and medium packed for 8. Most votes are for no communication, so this will be no communication. Same with submitting an allies turn, this will be allowed. It was mentioned the ability to communicate if the message were sent to all. This isn't a bad idea. We would certainly see some propaganda with this. Though with a medium universe I think scouting should be able to provide the data needed. So if you are for communication if the message is sent to all, let me know. If you are against, you don't have to vote, I will count no vote as against.

Done. No HE race for ccmaster. All others cannot take HE factoryless. This means you cannot have factories worse than the default of 10/10/10 and no GR above 10(20). It would be no fun to start next to any factoryless HE in this game.

Also we now have 2 volunteers for race checks and universe mapping, so as soon as we get final teams we can get this going.
