CA's having the ability to see everyone's habs, by temporarily setting relations to "Ally".
The game doesn't wait for the relationship to be confirmed by the other party, or for the next gen.
It show's the habs in the same turn.
I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.

Yes...someone should add this...

...and this...
Ref this post from that thread, this is not a bug, but intended and documented behaviour. Also, smegged if I can describe it succinctly.
Quote: | There might be some benefit to be had from a distinction between Mine Damage Dodge and Mine Damage Allocation
| The only (other) reference to Mine Damage Allocation I can find on HWF is your post where you say:
<edit snip after reading this post>
hmm...perhaps. It is the same bug however... merely a different exploitation.

Beam Damage Stack Overflow is documented as intended behaviour, such that remaining damage after target kill spreads to another target at the same location.
However...
Beam Damage Stack Overflow will also spread to other ships in range, not just the same location.
And further, Beam Damage Stack Overflow can be finessed to inflict more damage in overflow than the weapons system would be capable of without Beam Damage Stack Overflow.
As far as mine damage, the dodge would be something like using a chaff with 50 armour to soak some crazy amount of damage >50. Mine Damage Allocation uses the same mechanism (whereby one can send mine damage first to one ship design older than another) but in this case something like an armoured shielded Frigate takes the place of the chaff. So all expected mine damage goes to reducing armour or is absorbed by shields, but your Cruisers take only a fraction of the damage they would have without the FF.
(edit): see Re: Mine Damage Dodge - bug or feature? (split from: Late game minesweeper)

Not to be overly sceptical but is there any more information on this? I don't really feel confident listing this as a bug based on a single post.

I have added another section the the wiki's Known Bugs titled "Cosmetic Bugs" for cases like this, and the RS/non-RS remaining shields in battle thing.
If you can nail this bug down we can add it there.
Are there any other cosmetic bugs that we know of?
Note to self: you can update/sync the forum copy. ###### Micha.
Scratch that, I can't because the posts are locked.

Ran into Dogthinkers some time ago. Couldn't resist dropping by to see how things were going here. Good to see the forum got an update.
It has been more than 1,5 years now. As expected, and intended, leaving Stars! and the community hurt. Life became more miserable. At first I thought withdrawal symptoms from not playing anymore would be the worst. But I only recently realized that the emptiness and loss comes from no longer being a part of something good, something great.
In the thread with the poll Matt is right however, I never second guessed what I did, and no matter my intentions, I should have. Therefor removing/banning myself seemed the best thing to do (and still is).
Anyway, surprised to see my login still works. And to see me mentioned ... although I wonder what the ###### stands for. But, gible, truly sorry I can't help you out ... That's actually what I miss the most; helping.
My sincere apologies.

Hey Micha! Of course your login still works. We didn't kick you out, and I still feel that your self-imposed exile is unneeded. You are always free to help in the forums as a regular forum user. You have a pretty big knowledge of Stars! knowledge and workings and could answer questions and help players gain a deeper knowledge of Stars!.

A general expletive directed at your leaving. People who help are hard to find. People who keep helping after the first week/month/year are even harder.
