Hi everyone, is there a super newb guide published anywhere on the forum? I just installed this game again and haven't played it in over 10 years and I'm not even 100% sure how the mine/factory economy system works. If the beginner info is condenced into an FAQ somewhere in this forum could someone link me to that please?

The game uses four resources for production. The three minerals - Ironium, Germanium and Boranium, and a fourth resource, just called "Resources", which factories produce.
"Resources" represents your manufacturing capacity - the amount of stuff you can make each year. Unlike the minerals, it cannot be stored from year to year, but is entirely consumed (unused resources go to your research totals.)
There is a tutorial in the game, accessed from the 'help' menu (after actually starting a game, rather a silly place to have this option.) This will help you get these most fundamental concepts.

...and mines make minerals for you. Factories need Germanium to build so unless you're playing a factoryless race, you really want to conserve as much germanium as you can especially early.
