Send the race to mark hewitt for check and he can send to gible or paulrc i forgot whos gonna do it.

I'll probably end up asking Paul to do it, but I'll have a go first. I've reinstalled my computer coz I had a suspicion that VS2005 might have been interfering with it, also rebuilt all the race files and tried planetswapper but still no luck - it still doesn't work. Maybe altering the one race file will be enough tho I doubt it. If all else fails (and Paul isn't willing) I can create it the hard way.

If it comes to doing it the "hard" way I'm pretty experienced with that. I've created a number of games without problem.
Let me know if I can help. Setup done the hard way should not take more than a couple of days.

Hi ,
no changes for other teams or teammates ... normaly no changes at all it is only a replacement what has the luck to be there from the beginning .
Everychange made to races with the knowing of the new setting , special Hab changes and Faktorie Mine settings will give real big advantages for the players changing.

Mark Hewitt wrote on Sun, 19 July 2009 15:39 | Deuce, I only got your updated race file. Up to slimdrag00n to call whether you get to update or not. I've sent your file to Gible; he can use the original (or I'll send it again) or slimdrag00n okays the update. If your team wants to get the change, I suggest they get their files in too.

I've tried SHEing the new fileset but I'm getting the same errors. I have contacted Paul about it but unless he can be sure the gamefiles will work I'll pass them on to AlexTheGreat to remap "the hard way". In either case, slimdrag00n, you need to make a ruling re Deuce's team's new files before I will do either.

If I understand correctly gible is working together with PaulCr using a new set of tools while AlexTheGreat is doing it old school ... which (I know from experience) can be very time consuming.

Yep, that's basically correct.
I use a small tool of my own which gives me a penscan of every planet in the universe & I use a technique that speeds things up so each regen takes around 2-3 minutes.
This game setup is quite a difficult one because each alliance must occupy their own quadrant & any HW2s (IT,PP) must also end up in the same quadrant as their HW. I would estimate that about 25 regens would be needed on average to satisfy that need.
This is just me but I would also not feel that the job was complete if there were any major imbalances (eg. one alliance is close to the East-West nominal border & another is much closer to the edge meaning that the first alliance is able to easily grab a lot more territory than the second). All-in-all I would expect to need about 100 regens or about 6-7 hours (2-3 days).
Skoormit generated the original Open War but I provided the scanning tool & a "How To" to him.
