Was homeworld mapping done by player request or is there a particular format you followed? Team 2 hasn't been located as expected and I'm just wondering if what we got was what everyone else got.

thanks for opening the topic.
Well i dont know what to do with the problems just yet people are facing.
Im still deciding what to do about the player positions. I did have a map drawn out showing planets farther apart but i guess it wasnt specific.

The planets are so close together. Crammed into the corner of the universe. One of my team mates planets is 70 ly away. I feel with everyone so close the IT's planets are probably so close as well giving no benefits. Anyone with lets say HE who has to expand with high growth and immunities will have a hard time fighting for starting planets with there own team mates..
Im leaning towards a remake but if team leaders want to express why they think this is a good or bad universe feel free.
My opinion is Id like to see the planets 300 ly away instead of 70 ly.

Remake works for me. 300ly seems a bit far though. Maybe 200ish? And slightly more centrally located would be nice so the poor fella in the corner has a little more expansion room.

At this point everyone has the same advantage and dis advantage of being so close and crammed in the corners.. Ill leave it up to the 4 leaders to decide if we remake.

A remake may help avoid the homeworld production bug too..

Races with the highest ability to move pop will have a significant advantage if everyone starts far away in a corner. Whoever reaches the central clusters first will likely take a larger slice of territory.

Just seems crazy remapping again for just a little more ly spread.. im gonna start this game as is when every ones turn is in. Everyone will have same advantage and disadvantages. So lets just get this shindig started.

And yeah anyone who wants there upload passwords changed just PM what you want your team upload passwords to be.

Gible can confirm this and I'd say it would be affecting the other player as well. We will need to re-create the game..

err again? I thought we'd already solved that once already.
Edit.. Ah I didn't see that it is corrupting the x file.
Edit2.. its still blank in 2401? I can't see that no, I don't have access to the files at AH, just the originals(2400)

It was never solved, I was just willing to take the penalty of not producing anything in the first turn. But after the gen it hasn't fixed itself so I cannot build anything at all. Sending turn file to Gible now..

My HW is now also unexplored. I treid the trick of "save & Submit", deleting the X file and reopening. Last time it worked, this time no.

Edit: I actually only renamed the X file in the procedure above. So I could submit my turn, I deleted the new X file Stars created, and renamed my old X file back. When I opened the game to check, I could access my HW again! Go figure...

My turn has been sumbitted.

I received the 2401 .m file from Kaloth, and just to really screw with you guys, I *can* see his population etc. I have no .x or .h file present. Production orders have been carried out.

But yes, if this in going to continue throughout the game a restart is going to have to happen.

Ok Gible, I have confirmed that deleting the .x and .h files allow me to see my pop when I re-open the .m file (just like before). However, this time it does NOT generate a corrupt .x file if I build anything on my HW. This is a good step! However I really don't want to have to delete my .h and .x file every single turn. I am prepared to sit through another turn to see if the problem goes away but at the moment this is a real handicap..
