I really wanted to finish playing in the original but a few people dropped out around year 20 and caused the game to close. So I want to get another going again if theres enough players.

Universe
Medium Dense with remapped HW's if possible.
12 Players divided in to 4 teams of 3 based on skill level.
(3 teams if we cant find enough players in a decent time frame)


Game parameters
Yes Slow Tech Advances
Yes Accelerated BBS
Random Events On
Chaff and Split Fleet Dodge allowed, Repair after gating loophole is ok because that's bound to happen no matter what when merging all other cheats are banned.
All players not on your team must be set to Enemy
May only share tech, intel, and trade with members of own team.

Hopefully i can take care of this and someone else can host on auto host sense i have no idea how. Someone will also have to check races for teams.(So far it looks like I'm going to have to learn how.)

Race Restrictions
Teams can pick only 1 race from each grouping. Once teams are established there will be a 7 to 10 day window to discuss with your teammates race design(hopefully sooner). I will not be posting players emails on the forum so you will have to PM your teammates in order to get hold of them once list is established.

I took out CA because I hate the race for its over powering abilities.
Group 1: JoAT, IT
Group 2: IS, SD, HE
Group 3: WM, SS, PP
Group 4: AR

Victory goes to Last Team Standing.

Skill level will be determined by number of games play so when you say your in also include the number of game you have played including those still running. I will try to keep the teams as balanced as possible based on this system when making the team.
Also please list your time zones.

Skill groups are;
5 or less games played -Beginner
6 - 11 games played -Experienced
12+ games played. -Pro

A list of teams will be posted by me prior to race design, any grievances regarding teams must be stated within 72 hours of list being posted in hopes of possible change.
I want to try to stay with a Monday threw Friday for turns at least till turn 20 these turns really shouldn't take to long to complete. After that if the majority wants we will go to a 4 turn a week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

Also game will go on if a team member leaves the game and still cant find a replacement.

Skandal: pro- GMT +1
Einherjock: beginner- GMT -8
Gesh: experienced- GMT -5 (his friend(name?)beginner also GMT -5
Xardre: experienced- GMT -7
Kaloth: begginer-GMT +10
Crappicus: experienced-GMT -8
Bretter: pro
Deuce: experienced GMT-4
bigcanuknaz: expirienced GMT-5

Sounds like a cool idea. I'd be willing to check the race files and set up the game on Autohost.

I'd be interested, and I have a friend who would like to play as well (we used to play back in the day, and found this forum a little while ago so I've been lurking for new games since then)

Obviously we'd like to be on the same team, if that were possible. I'd put us in the low to mid group skill-wise.

Also what were you thinking for a generation schedule?

Its possible to put you on the same team i think. Once we get enough players your 3rd teammate will be adjusted to your skill levels. If your both around mid range skill and theres no pro's that join that might be the only problem. We will just have to wait and see.

 I'd be up for this if it started in about 3 weeks - though, I'll only be gone over weekends so it might not be THAT big a deal.
I also have ideas for what team setup I'd like too, if that helps. Smile
Experience: 6-11 games, including one pre-built team game, but most of them were a long time ago.

 I will play in this game on the condition that I get to play with the people I want to. Had a bit of a chat with Coyote and if possible we would like to play in the same team. I also have an intermediate in mind for the third team member, making us a team of expert, intermediate and beginner.

I'm afraid I'm really wary these team games unless I know my team mates well..

Gesh: what is you and your friends gmt and how many games you each played??

Coyote: Game needs a lot of players still and time so you might have your three weeks. So i guess i can count you in until teams are made and if your ready at that time.

Kaloth: I'll be making the teams as fair as possible but you can tell me your gmt and how many games you played and hope that you get at least one of your buddies on your team.

ALL:
Most of the Pros are in games so I dont know if they are up for a 2nd or 3rd game. I think everyone should tell me honestly how many games they have played total so I can make teams fair if for some reason there is no pros.

 Xardre, Coyote and myself have already started discussing race design etc.

My GMT is +10 but we all have no problem getting in touch.

The reason why I would expect this to be suitable is because we are at different skill levels, this is not like having 3 experts wanting to be on the same team to dominate, our abilities are spread evenly from beginner to experienced. I for one do not want to play in a random team. I can't see why this wouldn't work out.

Edit: games played for me is 2.

I apologize,
I guess I didnt make my self clear in first post. I will make the teams once we have enough players. Based on games played, and time zones for team coordination.

Reasons i wont make teams yet.
Theres not enough players to decide what i think is fair. For example your team doesnt have a pro. If all the other teams do get a pro you would be the only team without. Or if all the other teams are nothing but beginners they will have no experienced player and will be ultra challenged.

Team leader is most experienced player on team.
Most experienced player playing here would end up with me. Or someone like me with 0 games under there belt.
Sorry if you disagree i just believe in what i think is a fair game like the other open war.

I've probably played 10 games and he has 3 or 4 proper games under his belt.

We're both okay with our team's sum being "less skilled" than the other teams - we're just looking for a game to play together and this one seemed interesting.

Oh and we're both GMT - 5

Crappicus: Its probably good Idea to hide what race you want for now. Your going to want to talk race and design with team leader/ team. I to have a race in mind and hoping there's not going to be to many problems.
