If it's going to take more than 2 days before we start, I'm definite.
|
np. It will be more than 2 days. Some players might design a different race depending on density so once we know how many players there are I'll give everyone about 4 days to get their races in + 3 more days for design adjustment (for those who seek advice).
Hopefully we'll know how many players within a week from now.
There are now 7 confirmed players. 4 slots left.

Ok, I've added you to the player list.
Are you able to work on your race design while you're away?
8 players registered. 3 spots left.
Density will now NOT be sparse.

Neilhoward & Xelot have joined so we now have 10 players meaning that:
Density is now determined: it will be dense so everyone can now get into some serious race design.
ONLY ONE SLOT LEFT. WHO WANTS IT?

I'm not pregame allying or anything, in fact I probably won't ally with him at all given that in our last game of Stars! he backstabbed me.
But I know him.

np. The disclosure is a sign of honesty too.

craebild wrote on Sun, 18 January 2009 05:15 | AlexTheGreat, I have a suggestion. When you ask Ron to create the game, then you should request a game forum, to allow faster communication than the in-game messaging allows.
What will the gen schedule be ? I would prefer a max. 28 hours schedule rather than a set MTWTF schedule, as I have more time for playing Stars! during the weekend than on workdays, but I do not have any problem with a MTWTF schedule, that would just mean that I have a lot more time to handle my turn when it happens over the weekend.
|
I intended to request a private forum anyway.
The fixed time gen schedule is popular with allies from widely different time zones. If the players want max. x hours that's fine. Normally it would be max. 26 hours but, again, if the players want then 28 works.
I didn't realise you were an Aussie (like me) Magic.

How do we get our races to you?
|
If you want advice send a PM to CCMaster or Micha.
Once you're happy with your race email it to me at mcdonaldjk at bigpond dot com.
Don't forget to include your race PW if you set one.

It should not be necessary in this game, as the host isn't playing, but it is good practice always to PW protect files used on AH, so you do not forget it when it is necessary.
The host can see and change the download PW of each player, used when downloading and uploading files, and the host PW will also act as a download PW for all players, so if you do not PW protect your race file, then an playing host can look at your turn files to see exactly what you have, as well as any continuing orders such as warfleets that take more than one turn to reach their destination. The playing host could even change your orders, but that would give away the cheating.
A nonplaying host gains no advantage by looking at the turn files of the players, and might actually have to look at the turn files in order to judge any claims of rules violations, so with a nonplaying host it should not do any harm not to use a game file PW.

As craebild said, a race PW is not needed in this game since up/download PW protects you from prying. In a game where the host is playing then you must always set a race PW.
So race PWs are optional BUT when I host a game:
1. I always collect turn files from every race every year. This allows me to check for indiscretions &, importantly, means that I have all the files needed in case someone's PC crashes or someone disappears.
2. I need to know your race PW at all times if you set one. If you change your PW you must give me the new one.
