I've been using FlashBlock for well over a year now. Never gave a problem, and never failed to block a Flash gizmo except the ones I told it to allow. I've never heard of "flash killer". Rolling Eyes

Flash killer is an ad on just like flash block it but it isnt a constant effect from page to page.. It blocks only things you click on.

no script i definitely took off after a week. it blocked so much stuff that i always had to manually unblock things all the time.. like videos..
so much more of a hassle then positive.

has anyone used that add on that lets you down load videos like on youtube, myspace or i guess it makes it sound like any video..
if you have let me know if its easy to use and virus free.

Security costs. It also depends on what kind of sites you usually visit. I've been going for months oblivious that NoScript was even there. Cool

Of course. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org and the Video DownloadHelper should be among the Most Popular. There's others if that one doesn't work for a particular website/video.

I don't know what I'd do without NoScript. There is so much sh!t that is blocked by NoScript, it's not even funny.

Have you ever surfed Facebook with nothing allowed on the page? Every single pages without exception load about 5 times faster. It's ridiculous!

You can unblock things "temporarily" or "definitely". That way you only need to do it once for the sites you trust (or must trust for them to work) like Gmail.

Even so, there's a setting to unblock "presumably bad" things from even trusted sites. That might be a problem for some sites, particularly if you visit them often.

If you only visit a few mild-mannered sites, it's a piece of cake.

If you visit lots of new sites everyday, and most of them use weird and/or dangerous scripting, then yeah, your battle for security is harder, so you either give up these sites or your security or discipline yourself.

NoScript (and others like it) at least give you the option.

yeah it does give those options your completely right. i guess i didnt like noscript because i go to many different new sites a day. so each time i always had to block or unblock something manually and became annoying.

Hopefully most of these sites will still work ok with NoScript's default settings/behavior. Whip

Otherwise you should give a serious thought to the risks you're running. Hit Computer
