 StarEd V1.2 Crashing on Save...help? |

Hello. I have found Stars! yet again after another leave of absence. To all of you that have helped keep this great game and extras around, thank you!
So, I have been surfing every Stars! site that I can find, mostly now non-functioning, and trying to complete my collection of files, and find an answer to my little problem:
I am trying to use StarEd V1.2 to MOD my Stars! game. I have Stars!2.6jrc3 and Stars!2.7jrc3. The problem is that when I try to save any MODded 2.6/2.7jrc3, StarEd locks up my laptop. The only thing that will work is my CAPs Lock light...I can't even get my Task Manager to come up. After waiting for a while, I have to turn off the laptop and turn it back on to continue.
I am running Microsoft Windows XP Professional V5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600.
Can anyone help shed some light on this? I would really like to change a few things and try out a different form of play.
