I have the impression that the "loose" M-F 24 hour gen is working out OK for the game start. I think the various races have gotten nine turns in in about 5-6 days (if not quicker).

This seems to work well for game start - and I might just adopt it for all future games. Any comments on this from the players so far?

I fully expect the turn gen rate to fall off from this level in a week or so as the time spent on turns increases. And maybe a discussion of further slowing once things get built up in the 30's or so.

I like the "loose" schedule. Seems to be the most flexible while still allowing things like "only force generate on certain days of the week".

I left it loose within the set gen times for the following reasons:
1. If the players (collectively) want to run faster than the M-F schedule they could do so simply by all getting their turns in.

2. A 'fixed' schedule would come into being simply by a player not submitting rapidly.

3. The 'loose' schedule also allows a bit of a work around for players who can often be busy on a given evening (especially those with children. It possible to submit, get the next gen, and submit again in a fairly short time - thus opening up a window of 'free' time for other activities.

3a. A build up of 'slack' time might also factilitate travel for some players. Notable with a religious holiday coming up that tends to spawn travel in the US.

Downside of this is that there is limited leeway for submiting a turn and then later submiting a modified turn file with additional tweaks -- and the last player out basically has no leeway at all. And 'slack' build up might prove annoying to those who like their Stars! turn gens a bit more steady and predictable.

I like the schedule as it is now.

However, when the game gets more complicated, I would like the turns to slow down some.

Rather everybody getting their turn in, than predictable.
